BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - One of the state's most popular guns has been
banned under New York's SAFE Act. But now, officials say they've found
a way to get the gun back on store shelves.

Firearms manufactures have modified the popular AR-15 assault rifle to
meet the new standards. Attorney James Tresmond says it's a big step
towards interpreting the new SAFE Act.

"The AR-15, as we have come to know it, is no longer banned from being
sold in New York State, if it meets certain requirements, and those
are no pistol grip, no muzzle break and no detachable stock," Tresmond
said.

He adds the AR-15 will likely be back on store shelves with a
different name.

That is too funny. The market place responds. Government in
general, and many elected politicians specifically, are so ignorant
on market principles. Their only goal is to control the populace
via force of law instead of enforcing laws against the criminal
element.

Available at a reasonable cost: a conversion kit including a detachable
pistol-grip stock and muzzle brake.\

No one ever said gun banners were very smart.

I cannot WAIT for the leftists to begin shrieking "LOOPHOLE!" and "THE
NRA IS BEHIND THIS!" when, in fact, people are conforming to the
stupid law THEY wrote.

It's just too funny.

I wonder if these new rifles can still blow up trains?

This is a good news/bad news story.

It will kick off a new round of banning aimed at eliminating all semi-auto
rifles.

SOB, and so the gun makers circumvent the law (or so the liberals will tell
us) by complying with the law in full.

That is too funny.

And eventually people will realize their objective isn't to ban just a few
selected 'bad' guns....but massive sections of guns without any
consideration to what they are used for.
