I can't confirm nor deny what you assumed,
that Judaism condoning the violence in the
service of self-defense. But I don't see any
problem with it, since this is a sacred right,
prescribed to every body by the universally
disseminated Declaration of Human Rights.

How else can you protect yourself from use
of force against you, other than opposing it
with use of force - which is also a violence?

I don't have a problem with common sense....
