But seriously, on the subject of gays in the Boy Scouts, I've long
defended the organization's First Amendment right to freedom of
association, which means they have a right to set standards for
membership and exclude anyone they want, for any reason or no reason at
all.
It's outrageous that gay activists are trying to co-opt a PRIVATE
organization like BSA, forcing it to accept gays (and atheists), in spite
of its long held beliefs. If gays don't like the BSA's rules, they are
free to start their own scouting organization and admit or exclude
whomever they choose.
This is why that even though I am gay myself, I reject the "gay agenda"
because it is FASCIST. Leftist gays do not want mere tolerance, they
want APPROVAL, and they want to outlaw any expression of disapproval,
like they have done in Britain with the "Public Order Act."
My real right to express my opinion freely far outweighs my imaginary
right to not be offended by other people's opinions. Britons decided
that the imaginary right to not be offended was more important, and now
their country is an Orwellian police state.
My usual analogy is to compare this gay scout issue to a Chess club or
the Catholic church. Should the Chess club be forced by law to admit
those who want to play Checkers instead? Should the monotheistic
Catholic church, which believes in Heaven and Hell, be required to admit
polytheistic Hindus who believe in reincarnation? Should Hinduism be
forced to admit monotheists who believe that polytheists are going to
Hell?
This is why we have the First Amendment, and those who would force
acceptance and approval of themselves and their personal beliefs on
others are fascists.
