First of all, Mitch is a fucking idiot. No government "forfeits it's
validity and right to continue" because one party lost the election.
Obviously the people who voted for Obama respect him. That's the
dumbest fucking piece of logic I've ever heard, and "Mitch" has posted
some pretty dumb shit.

Second, if people aren't willing to get off their fat dead asses and
vote, then they get the government they deserve. America deserves

It goes way beyond the past election. It starts with regime sellout
of the working and middle classes by trade deals such as NAFTA and WTO
promoting "offshoring" - something that happened 15 years before you
or I ever heard of Obama. It includes local governments putting
preposterous assessments on middle-class homes so it can tax them on
nonexistent value - at a time when the private sector funding those
local governments has been downsizing for 15 years but the local
governments expanding; this is why there were wire stories this
weekend - and a big one in the commie New York Times - about how
people were appealing property-tax assessments now in numbers like
never before.

free lunch to be had on the other guy's dime voted in greater numbers and
there is the impression that elections have been compromised.

Are you responding to the post or to a pat on the ass? I didn't notice
anybody advocating or proposing anything. Is it "the voices" you hear?

OTOH somebody in gummymint was worried about rebellions enough to make a
treaty with Canada allowing the use of Canadian troops to put down US
insurrections if US troops refuse to do so. I know that's true <g> 'cuz I

It is possible for the gummint to fail between elections. Should that
happen, I wouldn't expect the gummint to be any more helpful than it was
during Katrina. So far the gummint's handling of the economy has been on
par with Katrina, and has featured multiple abuses of existing contract law.
The economy is pretty fragile at the moment, and there are three + years
left before getting another chance to vote a change.

You might feel warm and comfy with the current state of affairs, by many
people don't.

Just passing by and note that as the US rep. to the Australian, British,
Canadian, and American (ABCA) Treaty Organization, I never heard anything
about it, but all of the Canadian military (air, land, and sea services)
amount to about 65,000 people, with maybe 4,000 deployed overseas. Not
exactly an overwhelming force to control 3 million US.

The PoA mentions the flag and the republic. Neither the present nor past
administrations are either one. If you believe that by reciting the PoA any
American is promising to support anyone then you clearly do not understand
the duties of an American Citizen.

Right or wrong, a disgruntled minority did exactly that circa 1776.

That same disgruntled minority then founded a republic governed by a
constitution which specifically grants certain powers to the government and
reserves the rest to the states and the people. I suggest you read it before
asking moot and inflamitory questions.

When elected officials exceed those grants, then the people have every right
to treat them as criminals and remove them from office through recall and/or
impeachment. The people are not required to patiently wait years for an
election to remedy a mistake.

Exactly. America didn't get its freedom by asking the United Nations
for it; it got its freedom by armed insurrection. The French didn't
get rid of the Marie Antoinette elites that were telling them to go
eat cake as they couldn't afford bread by asking the United Nations to
admonish Marie Antoinette; they got freedom from those elites through
armed insurrection. The Irish didn't get free of Brit colonial rule
through sending petitions to the Brit elites; they got free by armed
insurrection. The Palestinians didn't get Israeli occupation of Gaza

Actually, most Americans have given up on government. What you mean to
say is that we have the government of that small minority that still
fells that we can control government act by whom we elect. Problem is
that all the front running candates basically have the same objective.
They just differ on how to get there.

Take a look on the polls of the American people's trust in the federal
government and the trend lines of those polls. It's disturbing.

Really? Odd last time I looked the total number that voted were well
under 50% of the eligable votes, and when you consider the number that
voted for THIS administration you will find that over 3 people in 4 did
NOT elect this government. Let me just point out that with 1/3 of the
people supporting the Crown, we still ended up with armed rebellion
here. Nope, I think it's safe to say that government needs to be
concerned with their loss of popular support and do more to regain that
support by the people. I would like to say the last election did that,
but I have to wonder if a lot of those who turned out to vote did so
because of politics.......or other considerations such as skin color.

I have yet to see anyone who wants the Constitution gone.

But successive governments have trashed the Constitution, to the point
that it may as well not be there. For example, FDR created the Social
Security system - and then only two governments later, it was the
Eisenhauer administration and Congress that decided to loot and plunder
the SSA.

It is this last government of Obama's which may well be the "Straw that
broke the camel's back".

A "disgruntled minority"?

There are the 14 million or so that constitute the 9.5% unemployed who
lost their jobs and cannot find a new one.

There are the retirees who are now paying federal income taxes on their
Social Security incomes.

There are the upcoming retirees who will never see a dime of Social
Security because successive federal governments - including Obama's -
have looted and plundered the fund.

There are all the retirees who depended on their company's retirement
plans - which all went "poof" when the federal courts approved of the
company reorganization plans.

There are all the citizens with a brain, who cannot see any hope
whatsover that the federal government can ever pay off its debts.

There are all the citizens who did NOT vote for Obama, the fellow who
bowed to the so-called king of the arabs.

Oh, there is more than a disgruntled minority. It is more like a
disgruntled majority.

as now, had been duly elected. Only a minority of "Americans" supported

That I can agree with, but it takes much more than that, when the
candidates running are all basically unacceptable. No, it means one must
put considerable effort, and like effort from similarly minded people,
to even get a suitable candidate in place to vote for. While I agree
people need to do more in this respect, it's a monsterious task that
frankly few people have the time, money and drive to do much about.
After all, look at some of the alternative candidates in the last
Presidental election. They couldn't even get in on the Presidental
debates despite some of them being on the ballot in all 50 states and
thus just as much of a candidate as those that did participate. Sorry,
but while I agree not voting is a cop out, I can understand their
position and once the government has lost enough popular support, then
it's time to worry. I will simply note that right now only about 1/3 of
the people support the federal government......Yet King George with only
1/3 of the population supporting his reign was faced with armed rebellion.

The stage is set, it just needs the proper conditions to start it all,
or our leaders can look ahead and see the potential danger and do
something about regaining popular support. Frankly I hope they manage to
regain that support, because armed violence is not something anyone
would want even if you could predict the final results.

You do know that initially the Founders still considered King George thier
monarch and that they wanted was a fair shake not to separate.

If nothing else proves it the level of education in this country as provided
by the oublic school system is appallingly low. For all the money dumped into

King George refuses Olive Branch Petition

Richard Penn and Arthur Lee, representing the Continental Congress, present
the so-called Olive Branch Petition to the Earl of Dartmouth on this day in
1775. Britain�s King George III, however, refused to receive the petition,
which, written by John Dickinson, appealed directly to the king and expressed
hope for reconciliation between the colonies and Great Britain.

Dickinson, who hoped desperately to avoid a final break with Britain, phrased
colonial opposition to British policy this way: "Your Majesty's Ministers,
persevering in their measures, and proceeding to open hostilities for
enforcing them, have compelled us to arm in our own defence, and have engaged
us in a controversy so peculiarly abhorrent to the affections of your still
faithful Colonists, that when we consider whom we must oppose in this

By phrasing their discontent this way, Congress attempted to notify the king
that American colonists were unhappy with ministerial policy, not his own.

Irrelevant. Jefferson stated (paraphrased) 'that the tree of Liberty must
be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.'
He believed that the new nation would need a revolution every 80 years or
