Manda, I don't know what your relationship to this site is (I see that you
have been accused of owning it - and you may, for all I know) but I think
you will find this a dead end avenue for advertising purposes. I have a
commercial site also, but I would never consider posting its URL or
promoting it on a Usenet discussion even if the subject of the site might be
of interest to some of the Fruit Loops that tend to "dominate" these
groups. If it is not a site that welcomes advertisement the rule of thumb is
"don't." And that even goes for the more commercial sites like MyWay
discussion forums, etc.

It is a fairly nice site... but consider promoting it in another venue. More
than half of these folks don't even like a discussion that doesn't uphold
their world view on a subject... much less the thought of some capitalist
trying to make a buck.

Granted, this promo cost you little more than time spent... but don't
forget, you get what you pay for... and here you paid nothing, and will
probably get nothing but a lot of grief. Spend some of that wasted time and
take a GOOD marketing class... and good luck on your venture.
