Win a cool $250,000 from Creationist's challenge!

named Dr. Hovind. I don't know if it's been mentioned here before, but I
thought you'd be amused to know about it in case it hasn't. This guy will
supposedly give $250,000 to anyone who can empirically prove that evolution
is the only way life could have developed. He uses the old creationist
fallacy of: "Ha! You can't prove evolution is true, so it must be false!"
Someone please do me a favor and go take his money. The details of the

might want to check out his other b. s. creationist arguments on his
www.drdino.com site, just for giggles. He'll set up criteria to make the
proof impossible, but give it a shot anyway. When you win the money, I want

This challenge is well known : in fact, if you hang around here
a bit longer you will see it being discussed in another thread.
Noone wants to take the challenge, basically because :
a. What Hovind wants `proved' is his strawman version of evolution,
b. He requires an unreasonable standard of proof, from a scientific
perspective,
c. He gets to nominate the judging panel,
d. and noone is that sure that he has the money anyway.
There have been attempts to nail him down to a more reasonable
challenge, but so far unsuccesfully

e. Even if he does have the money, there's not much chance you'll get
your hands on it before the IRS does, given Hovind's tax problems.
It's too bad actually. I'd get a kick out of putting myself through
college again at Hovind's expense. Maybe I'd actually finish this time
around. :)
