Evolution

And, your proof for this?

First, it's thermodynamics. Second, this strawman has been struck down so
many times that I don't need to do so again. Look in DejaNews

What about the water on Europa? And, besides, even if that is so, what
does that prove? BTW, Show me how the flood happened. Also, show how Noah
fit the millions of species on the Ark. And, no, Karl. No more
Woodmorappe!!!

No one "believes" in evolution. Scientists, and the science minded look at
the evidence and find that evolution is the best explanation of the
evidence. Racism has been around in the human race long before Darwin.
Hitler got most of his ideas from German antisemites.

Now, try answering the question. Support your beliefs. Don't just try to
put down evolution.

Bwwwwwaaaaahahhaaaaaaahhhhhaaaa!!!!! Sorry... whew.... ok, here is a list
of the top 5 evidences for evolution.
1. It's cool.
2. I like it better than creationism.
3. Creationism is silly.
4. Only doody-heads think evolution is dumb.
5. Creationism causes things like the Inquisition.

So there you have it. The above list clearly refutes the validity of
creationism.

That is a fallacy. There are many other routes to existance, one
of which is creationism, the other is evolution.

> 2. The city of Jericho was found, and yes, it was in RUINS, because God

Thousands of ruins have been found, this means nothing.

The second law has nothing to do with evolution. We aren't a
closed system.

> 4. Earth has all of the water in the solar system, due to the worldwide

Jupiter has more water in it than earth does. Some of the moons,
such as Europa and Callisto have ice on them, in some cases a crust
several miles thick.

Creationism does not lead to racism any more than Evolution does.
What is hitlerism anyways?

Ha! What a joke. Earth has a bugger all proportion of the water in the
solar system. In fact it is very much devoid of water when you take a
look at any object either outside the asteroid belt or originating
from the outer solar system. Most of the moons of the outer planets
and all the comets are half made of water ice and I must add that the
interiors of the outer planets contain a large proportion of water.

PS. Your other arguments are complete crap too.

Tony, I find few things funnier than a totally serious response to a humorous
post. Congrats, you caught 2 of em, as I write this.

And what's really funny is neither one of them are creationists.

PS to Bill and Darren,
Tony's post was humurous, his arguements were crap because they were
tongue in cheek, They were however better than any creationists is likely to
post.

This, of course, has nothing to do with creationism. In fact, it has
nothing to do with evolution or thermodynamics (the real things, not your
misunderstandings of them).

Why does the Bible say nothing about the Flood on Mars?

Creationism is built on a foundation of immorality. Its two most basic
tenants are hubris ("God did things like WE say; He is subordinant to us")
and bigotry ("OUR version of God is the only one that counts"). Its evil
fruits are apparent in your own post (your lies about thermodynamics,
e.g.). Go look at the mote in your own eye.

oh, they are certainly very funny. has tony ever read anything that
wasn't written by a creationist? These points of his would seem to
suggest not.

I have a few qestions for "TONY" about number 4...

What about Mars?
here is a little something I found on the "Views of the solar system"
web page. this paragraph discusses the Viking lander, paragraph 4

http://www.hawastsoc.org/solar/eng/marssurf.htm

Without prior knowledge, the terrain at the landing sites could be
mistaken for some of Earth's rocky deserts. Lander 1
pictures showed a gently rolling landscape that is a yellow-brown in
color with rocks of all sizes strewn through out the scene.
The rocks have rough surfaces and are pitted from wind carried
particles. Drifts of fine-grained debris can also be seen in the
pictures. During the Viking 1 winter, a thin layer of water frost
formed on the ground for approximately 100 days out of the
year.

here is another one, taken from a press release (Jan. 17, 1997) from
NASA about the gallielo flyby of Europa:

http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/galileo/status970117.html

"There are three main criteria to consider when you are looking for
the possibility of life outside the Earth -- the presence of
water, organic compounds and adequate heat," said Greeley. "Europa
obviously has substantial water ice, and organic
compounds are known to be prevalent in the Solar System. The big
question mark has been how much heat is generated in
the interior.

If I am not mistaken, comets are known to contain water ice, as well
as other frozen gasses and bits of debris.

I also found reference on the NASA Cassini project page of their plan
for scientific study of the Icy satellites of Saturn.

they however, did not secifically mention water ice, so this one is a
little iffy.

lastly, I must ask... what is "Hitlerisim" ?

OK Tony, have seen in some of your previous threads that
you are not a creationist but here you give us an
opportunity to think.

>1. Look around you, man! How could you have existed
without a loving
>creator?

A loving creator is a matter of opinion. Considering what
we have to go on love is an emotion that has evolved from
a need to keep a particular group together. This is an
adaptation.

>2. The city of Jericho was found, and yes, it was in
RUINS, because God
>struck it down!

This was an earth quake prone area. The walls came
tumbling down many times.

>3. Evolution is impossible-it violates one of the
foundamental laws of
>the universe, the second law of thermodinamics!

That would be true of life in general. However, life is a
solar powered reaction. It has constant input to keep
building on complexity.

>4. Earth has all of the water in the solar system, due to the
worldwide
>flood. Find another planet that has so much water....

Not an astronomer but there is a lot of water out there
(moons, comets, ect.). Wouldn't it be foolish to say that all
the water from the solar system resulted in the flood? What
possible mechanisms would be involved?

>5. It takes more faith to beleive in evolution, and it cuases
things like
>racism, and ideas like Hitlerism.

Faith is blind. If the evidence for a 6000 year old world
existed then I would not think that evolution was possible
and would probably be in a bible ng right now. The causes
for sociological and historical phenomena are complex.
Did Darwin have anything to do with the holocaust?
Probably as much as Adam Smith. It is extremely difficult
to ferret out causes and effects when it comes to the
behavioral sciences. Would it have happened without any
working theory on evolution? Probably, ethnic pride has
been with us for thousands of years.

Good learning tool Tony. Now I'm not sure why some have
been hostile to you; the way I understand this thread is that
you are trying to get us to show what we think and why we
do so.
