I nominate Nashton.
I very much doubt moderation of t.o. is decided upon democratically.
If it is, i very much doubt Nashton will gather enough support.
Note: moderating talk.origins is not a political, but only a technical
function, which, by and large, is taken care of by a bot.
See http://groups.google.com/group/talk.origins/msg/e2b80cdebe501de1?hl=en&pli=1
You don't realize the pull I have, do you?
Approximately equal to a tree frog in draft harness.
I second this nomination. Please let me know if you need help
with the RFD.

As much as that? Impressive.
aye aye. nominated.
Well, you pull. But after a few pulls your eyes get all glassy. Now
shut the fuck up.

If you suck hard enough it can seem like pulling, I guess.
Chris
Now we really know you are nuts.

Sorry, the possition is not avaiable, and any prospective moderator
need a functioning brain.

Since nobody really cares, apparently not much.

To answer the obvious question, we have DIG's family held hostage.
Mitchell Coffey
You're pulling our legs pretty hard at the moment.
Where have you been hiding this sense of humor? Do tell.
Oh crap, I forgot to arrange the food deliveries over the holidays!
That cinches it.
This is a most unfortunate mishap but you didn't have to announce it
where DIG could read it.
Mitchell Coffey
NashTon is the golaszewski sock account he uses in this forum.
The rollocks are going to eat your brain if you keep posting. They
have already gotten Tapestry and Great Dayne and probably Michael by
now.
Ron Okimoto
I suppose it depends on what you are pulling. If it it is pulling pud then
you will have plenty of competition here so don't bet too heavily on
yourself.
David

Could someone head north and make sure DIG is still chained
to Darwin? The spells must be wearing off.

May I politely ask that this term has outlived its usefulness?
I am aware that most of you think it is a made up term. In
fact (with a slightly different spelling) it is a family name
somewhat closely related to mine.

The webcam shows that he is still there and that this evening's gruel
was delivered more or less on time.
He can't get out of the ritual circles. I painted them in hard wearing
outdoor blood and salt mix, no need to repaint for a century.
Has anyone been checking the tapes to make sure Larry Moran hasn't
been at the pentacles again?
Chris
No more than the galapogos is chained to evolution.
Glad to hear that. I was getting worried.
Good. They'll outlast me, and probably so will talk.origins.
The ayes have it.
Motion will carry with another second.
Let me look through the thread.
None taken, but I felt that enough was enough.
He's certainly not been *here* for a long time.
Last I heard he'd been entombed in a tree, Merlin-style.
Well, no, you have to follow the normal RFD process for
changing moderators on a USENET group. I will, however
support you creating the RFD and agree to vote for it.
As I am the current moderator, my support for such an
RFD is more or less needed or it'll get binned, in the
absence of some evidence I have abandoned the group or
the like.
So get cracking on the RFD.

LMAO!
Should be good. He probably thinks "RFD" stands for "Reasons for
Dismissal".

Or how about this
Draft RFD for initial feedback
REQUEST FOR DISCUSSION (RFD)
moderated group talk.origins
This is a [preliminary] Request for Discussion (RFD) for a change the
moderation policy of talk.origins to change it from a moderated to
an unmoderated newsgroup.
NEWSGROUPS LINE:
talk.origins Evolution versus creationism (sometimes hot!).
RATIONALE:
Moderation of talk.origins was an unusual step for a group
in the talk hierarchy. The original purpose of moderation
was to prevent certain abuses related to cross posting. More
is included in the extracted charter below.
According to the original moderation proposal, a revote
on moderation was to be scheduled. This never happened.
(verification please).
Additionally, beyond the original intent of moderation,
the current moderator of talk.origins has assumed the
authority to block individual posters who have behaved
in a manner deemed detrimental to the newsgroup. While
such behavior may be perceived, by the overwhelming
majority of the participants of talk.origins, to be
rightfully censured, no specific authority to take
these actions for the specified offenses was agreed
to at the time of moderation. The offenses are detailed
in the monthly talk.origins FAQ.
http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Talk/talk.origins/2007-11/msg04065.html
CHARTER:
see http://www.ediacara.org/~to/charter.html for full charter
*****
CHARTER: talk.origins
No copy of the original charter of talk.origins is currently
available. (Apparently a formal charter was never issued.)
The newsgroup talk.origins is meant as a venue for discussion
of the scientific, religious, and political issues pertaining
to various theories of the origins and development of life and
the universe. Within such basic guidelines, wide-ranging discussions
over a large number of topics are covered, all relating back to
the main purpose of the group.
Given the sometimes contentious nature of such discussions,
a moderation policy has been selected to permit unrestricted
discussions, but to limit crossposting to/from talk.origins.
No crossposts to more than three other groups are permitted. No
content-based considerations are to be made in evaluating
articles for the group, only the number of groups crossposted
to. Any article submitted to talk.origins that is posted to
greater than four (4) newsgroups in either the Newsgroups:
or Followup-To: headers shall be returned to the sender
with an explanation of the crosspost policy of the group.
No alteration of either the Newsgroups: or Followup-To:
header is to be performed; either a post passes the
crosspost-limit or is rejected.

{MODERATION POLICY:}
This proposal is to remove moderation of talk.origins

PROCEDURE:
Discontinue moderation

PROPONENT:

CHANGE HISTORY:
preliminary draft 30.12.2009
Didn't you block this guy? I Am and Michael seems to be more
manifestations of Great Dayne, and Tapestry et al. Beats me why he
needs to use multiple accounts even when he is trying to get past the
filters. Could be someone imitating the guy, but how likely is that?
Ron Okimoto
The revote was actually put in place over tale's
more or less statement that he'd ignore it. It
was odd.

be a step down, as he's stupider.
