I'm interested in learning more about biology in general and evolution
in particular. I know the basics, but don't understand a lot of the
technical terms. What should I be reading?

Note that my current education has consisted mostly of year 12
biology, my mum-s uni microbiology textbooks and Richard Dawkins.
Yeah, I'm a bit behind par.

You can usually learn the meaning of technical terms you encounter by
Googling. But if you want to be systematic about it, you should probably
start with college-level textbooks. You should be able to find them
at your local library. Or buy the slightly out-of-date editions used
on Amazon. They are written to be understandable by college freshmen -
which means they have lots of pictures. ;-)
