Could anyone really draw as beautifully as the Etch A Sketch art that appeared in advertisements for it? Or were the pictures faked?

I always preferred Spiro Graph.

hook it up to a plotter and then tell the computer the pen motor's
broken - you can't lift it off the page.

Either: someone sat twiddling the knobs until they'd done a passable
rendition of Munch's "The Scream"

OR: they photoshopped it.

one option represents a lot of work on behalf of someone with some skill.

the other represents thirty seconds in faux'shop. it's art vs fake.
