I have a sneaking suspicion that this has, in fact, already happened, and
that every book following #4 has actually been written by a Random Plot
Generator liberally peppered with the phrases that Jordan so loves to use
to excess.

Or I would, if a cow orker had not recently interviewed the man.

Shucks. You're idea is better than mine. Ever since I read the last post
about WWJD, I've been walking around thinking up lists of names to
substitute for Jesus in the phrase. For instance, next time you find
yourself in a perplexing or difficult situation, ask yourself:
What would Aristotle do?
What would Betty Boop do?
What would Catherine the Great do? (hmm...)
What would Jaques Derrida do? (do-dah, do-dah)
What would Eris do? (and is She doing it now?)
What would Fearless Fosdick do (and who is Fearless Fosdick? The name just
popped into my head.)
What would Genghis Kahn do? (not recomended in long lines at the bank)
What would Hannah Arendt do?
What would Ignatz, the mouse in the Krazy Kat cartoons, do?
What would Jane Goodall do?
What would Keith Moon do?
What would Lucille Ball do?
What would Ming the Merciless do?
What would the Emperor Norton do?
What would Scarlet O'Hara do?
What would Paula Poundstone do?
What would Quentin Crisp do?
What would Rasputin do? (I'm going to try that one)
What would Superman do? (I'm not going to try that)
What would Torquemada do? (Not, I think, what Jesus would do.)
What would Ulysses do?
What would Vincent Van Gogh do?
What would Wittgenstein do?
What would Xerxes do?
What would Zeno do? (Just stand there).

...and so on, ad nauseum. Feel better now? Here's hoping that I planted a
few wigbugs out there.

Well, duh. He'd throw a BRICK at somebody's HEAD.

This seems to me like a pretty good way to deal with perplexing
and difficult situations. I want a "WWID" necklace.

I have seen thousands of WWJD things for sale, usually
in the convenience stores next to the beef jerky.

I have seen one WWJD bumpersticker and that's all.
Maybe I don't look at people closely enough to see
bracelets, lapel pins, tattoos of it, etc.

I do have a hand-embroidered copy of a Jack Daniels
label, about 3 feet high and framed, on the wall of
my trailer's family room a few feet from my Escher

In his spare moments, Li'l Abner used to relax by reading the comics.
His hero was a detective named Fearless Fosdick, who was so straight
that he could make Dick Tracy seem a bit on the kinky side. IIRC,
Fearless Fosdick wasn't real smart.

SSC: I enjoyed reading Fearless Fosdick in the funny papers.

Fearless Fosdick was a parody of Dick Tracy. Al Capp imitated
Chester Gould's drawing style, and in the Li'l Abner world
the Fosdick strip was drawn by "Lester Gooch".

"Li'l Abner" occasionally parodied other comic strips, including
"Steve Cantor" (drawn by "Milt Goniff"), a parody of "Steve Canyon",
and of course "Mary Worm" (who comes to Dogpatch and almost ruins
Li'l Abner and Daisy Mae's marriage with her advice.)

"Fearless Fosdick" was the only regular strip-within-a-strip in
"Li'l Abner", though.

Well, I *had* been thinking of this as a plaintive
cry of the form "How else will this series ever end?"
But your point is well-taken; it certainly could go
the L. Ron Hubbard route.

Actually I posted that without realizing that the newest
one was out. He really doesn't seem to be in a hurry to
finish. [semi-spoilers] The subplot introduced in the
first pages never appears again in the book; the one
character whose fate was left hanging at the end of the
previous book never appears, and his fate is still totally
unresolved... although his influence was felt.

Still, I'm enough of a loser that I read it in two sittings.

Of course, this isn't rasfwrj, so I had best drop the
subject.
