Why Do Creationists Subscribe to a Completely Random System?

Creationists frequently LIE about evolution being random, when it
actually isn't at all. Only mutations are in any way "random", and
even those are constrained by the laws of physics and chemistry. One
of the main engines of evolution - natural selection - is exactly the
opposite of random.

Yet these same creationists would throw out evolution and replace it
with a system which is absolutely and entirely random in its every
aspect: creation!

How hypocritical is that?

This god of theirs is completely random. They cannot offer any
rationale, logic, or even a set of laws - not even a single law - or
even a guess at one which underlies this being. This god is a "Black
Box which is infinitely more inscrutable than anything Michael Behe
conjured up out of nothing and ascribed to Darwin.

The creationists themselves admit that their god is random when they
ask us to swallow that he works in mysterious ways. They cannot
predict how he will behave - it's random. They can't tell which
prayer will be answered, or how - or even *if*. They cna;t tell you
when he'll return in his glory. The date is random. They can't tell
you exactly what he'll do, or why, if and when he does return.

They can't predict what will happen to them in their life - or in
their death.

The universe they claim that this god created is itself random: we
never know when a gamma-ray burst or a meteor or comet is going to
impact Earth. We know the sun will expand and scorch Earth but we
don't know exactly when. It's random.

There's no way to predict from creation "science" which organisms will
survive and which will become extinct. You need the established
sciences to even attempt that. There's no way to tell when or how or
why life began with creationism. It's a random event with a random
cause.

History has shown that evolutionists can predict where transitional
fossils are most likely to be found, and they can predict what level
of fossils (microbes only, for example, or mostly fish, or nothing
beyond amphibians, or beyond reptiles, or beyond mammals and birds)
will be found in a given set of geological strata, but creationists
cannot do this since the geologic column is random according to them.
It was created that way by their random god. Their geology is
completely random becuase their random global flood made it that way.

They have no way to demonstrate that Noah and his family were the only
ones to survive this flood or that the flood was indeed global (in
which case it was pretty random in exactly how and when it struck).
They can't tell which organisms were on the ark or how or which other
organisms not on the ark survived because it's completely random.
They can't show you how the organisms spread after being released from
the ark and how this relates to today's distribution and diversity of
organisms. It's random.

They can't tell you which children will get hit by disease and which
are likely to die because that's random too - completely at their
god's whim.

They can't predict that good people will have long happy lives or evil
people short miserable ones. It's random.

They can't define "kind" - it's random dependent upon which
creationist you ask. They can't explain what mechanism maintains a
"kind" within its "kind" - apparently that's random too.

Nor can they tell us how people will be brought to this god of theirs
or who will desert this god. They have no idea who will go to Heaven
or who will go to Hell because it's random - as determined by this god
of theirs, because the god is random and the criteria are pretty much
random too. Some claim it's by works, others claim it's by faith.

Faith itself is random: what kind of faith you *have* is typically an
accident of birth.

In short, their entire position is random, yet they think predictable,
dependable, reliable, evidence-based evolution is random?

LoL!

You credit their thoughts with way too much coherence. In fact, you credit

describe what they do, faith and belief are much more superficial than

assumed basic human right not to have to think about anything at all.

their claims make sense within their framework of things, then run

But thanks for the comment. That was priceless!

But the forces that _cause_ natural selection is random.

Like the weather. A ten thoussand year bout of cold weather will triger
natural selection to select only those that can survive the extreme cold.

the N.S. itself is not random,

but what caused the N.S is.

So that makes N.S. random much of the time

now go take your meds and lie down

Wrong again, moron.

And the Earth randomly becomes hot or cold for no reason at all on a
whim? Yeah, right! LoL!

Nice straw man, but you're still RUNNING AWAY from the topic of the
thread and trying to distract everyone from your utter impotence in
addressing it. All you and your creation snit ilk can do, quite
evidently, is stutter but... but... but... and desperately hope no one
will notice how vacuous and otherwise worthless your creationist
position truly is.

Thanks for admitting that you've been soundly beaten. Again.

Except that weather and climate are not random, either. If they were,
the weather anchor on your local TV station would never be able to tell
you whether you need to wear a parka or take an umbrella to work in the
mornings. Nor would there be a hurricane season because they would be
equally likely all year 'round.

I guess we can add meteorology to the list of science about which you
are ignorant.

No, it does not. Because if it were then it you wouldn't find that it is
the organisms better adapted to cold which survived the winter. If
natural selection were random then the cold-adapted creatures and the
non-cold-adapted creatures would survive in equal numbers relative to
their current proportions in the population. Just because a process has
random doesn't mean that it, too, will be random. natural selection is
deterministic.

Nominated for the sheer dumb hypocrisy of an ignoramus who cannot even
spell "ignorant' calling someone else "ignorent"! LoL! It contains
ignorance, a lie, two misspellings, and two examples of appalling
grammar in only eight words.

the problem with this is that Brother Ted is not a theist .......... he's a
self confessed Loki whos signature is about as blasphemous as they come
...... very funny ....... but none-the-less something that would be
considered blasphemous by any theist ..........his spelling errors are
deliberate as well ...... I don't see how he can be realistically nominated
for a TQOTM.....
