Game pad or animation not working properly

Hi! can anyone help,

I got my Tagtool box to work, i'm able to draw, but i cannot animate.

I think my gamepad is working ( i'm using $12 after market usb PS2
controller) as I can see the numbers/ values changing on the control
screen but i cant animate the drawings. Is there anything i have to to
before animating the objects? thanks!
