Hi,
the smalltalk code of gtk is manually written. This beacuse methods
gets Smalltalk style, while they have no smalltalk-like meaning if
they are auto generated. But feel free to adopt a new method for
writing the bindings.

I wanted to do some GUI prototyping for Syx, for which I have to
extend the GTK bindings. My question is, if the code in /plugins/gtk/
st/ is completely handwritten or at least partially generated.

I'm officializing the change of web hosting and git hosting from googlecode
to berlios:
The new website is up!
For several reasons, including reliability, we switched both the website and
git hosting to berlios. Also the purpose of this change is to rewrite the

Another small note: the date on the home page states "at: 20 August 2008".
Possibly we can update the date to a newer one?

The migration has happened, you can find the homepage at [link].
Also the GIT repository has been migrated and I've added a couple of hooks
for announcing commits in the syx-commit ML.
If nobody is contrary to this choice, I'll officialize the migration
tomorrow.

It is certainly true that Google Code is more user friendly. I wish
GitHub had more features, because it is the most user friendly (and
actually the only beautiful) project hosting site I've ever seen :)

Another reason for swithing git to berlios is that they allow to create git
hooks. Actually I send email updates to syx-commit with a simple script and
emailing CIA after each local commit. That wouldn't happen anymore with
server-side hooks.

And... yes, it's definitely messed up :)
The idea is to transfer everything to berlios
as it has mailing lists, git and the bug tracker. I'll port the current git
hosting to berlios as soon as I can, while the ML and the bug tracking can

Will it be something like berlios.de/project_name?

Although I've never used BerliOS before, I guess relying on a big
project hosting site like it might be a good idea. It would be even
better if it let us do it with CGI scripting in Syx. Though I don't
know anything about what other hosting features BerliOS provides.

What if you instead use EXPORT in syx-interp.h:
EXPORT syx_bool \
name (SyxInterpState *es, SyxOop method)
Also try __declspec(dllexport) please.

Thanks for the patch, I have added the patch you supplied, and the program
does not crash any more.
I have had to add few changes to the source code to get average.c to work.

Passing NULL is right, because NULL means the program itself, no external
library. That's right the case of average which searches for a function
inside the program itself. The real reason is that unicode string
conversions don't ensure the given string is non-NULL.
Please consider applying the attached patch.
