Roles and Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY
Primarily responsible for coding BizTalk software solutions in BizTalk 2010, Microsoft .NET and SQL Server environments from specific functional requirements while adhering to an enterprise architectural framework. Also responsible for unit/integration testing and provide knowledge transfer and detail operational/technical documentation.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepares technical design documents in conjunction with development team leader that includes flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps program must follow and to describe logical operations involved.
· Actively assist in the configuration / tune-up of the BizTalk environment.
· Actively assist in the development of BizTalk application and technical architecture strategies.
· Actively assist in the configuration and implementation of BAM, by creating activities and views.
· Actively assist in the architecture strategies for exception management and tracking.
· Develops, tests, and documents BizTalk applications, applying knowledge of programming techniques, object oriented architecture & design, and computer systems.
· Understand the interactions between various IT applications and anticipates any consequences of proposed changes.
· Performs coding required to meet the functional and technical requirements.
· Performs unit testing of all changes before handing completed code over for build and quality assurance testing.
· Completes coding and testing efforts within the agreed upon timeframes.
· Correct errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced and no other areas are adversely affected.
· Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
· Assist with issues that arise in production environment that are escalated from product support; may involve complex troubleshooting techniques.
· Frequent communication with the Development Team Leader to help manage timelines and expectations.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
· 5+ years of experience with Microsoft BizTalk
· 5+ years of experience developing BizTalk solutions using BizTalk design patterns and practices
· 5+ years of experience with development, deployment, configuration and debugging of Orchestrations, Transformations, Messaging, Pipelines, Adapters and Schemas
· 5+ year of experience with business activity monitoring in BizTalk
· Extensive development experience and proficiency configuring and using BizTalk 2010 (2+ years). It must include experience configuring and using BRE and BAM.
· Experience and proficiency configuring and using ESB Toolkit 2.1. It must include experience working with Exception Management Framework (EMF)
· Extensive experience using Extensible Markup Language (XML), Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT), XML Schema Definition Language (XSD)
· Knowledge and understanding of HTTP/FTP/SFTP concepts
· Extensive object oriented design and application layering experience
· Experience and proficiency using Microsoft SQL Server 2008
· Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Attention to detail and commitment to quality
· Ability to perform under pressure and deadlines
· Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or equivalent experience
· Knowledge of BizTalk administration a plus.
· Knowledge of ACORD RLC and EDI standards and messages a plus
· Knowledge of Reinsurance, Insurance or Financial Services industry a plus
