Subject: Alternatives to XMI format
Are there any alternatives to the XMI format, preferably ones with
existing transforms from XMI, that represents a SysML model in a
manner that more closely resembles the structure of SysML?

I'd like to extract bits and pieces of SysML models for usage in other
tools, and I want it to be easy so that it can be done in close to an
ad-hoc fashion.  Technically XMI provides this, but XMI is an
extremely general format and rather non-intuitive.  I'd like something
at level abstraction close to SysML itself so I don't have to
constantly think about how to reverse the translation from SysML to
XMI when trying to extract information.

Is there any such file format?  Or a tool-independent API that
provides access to the model at a reasonable level of abstraction?

Thanks,
Erik Engbrecht
