Hi,

I've added the [sympy] tag to each subject in our list, so that we do
the same as all the other mailinglists I know about. However, if
someone is against, let's discuss it.

Thanks, I really like it.

Hi,

I don't like this, as it takes some space from the subject. Doing the same as
all other mailinglists doesn't seem a good reason. One can even argue it's
not a valid reason : from 10 ML or so I'm subscribed to, only 2 have this.

I think that one can know which list a message came from by filtering based on
the List-Id header, with some mail clients one can even rewrite the subject to
add this tag (Yes, I could rewrite the subject to remove it but I think it
would be better not to add it).

Hope that makes sense,
Abderrahim

I am +1 on that. Thank you.

I understand what you mean. I am also filtering mailinglists using the
list-id. It's really only about personal preference. I don't mind
either,
Gael, Felix, Basti (over IRC), Mabshoff (over IRC) are all +1, you are
-1. So far.

As to lists, I am on that have this: scipy-dev, scipy-user,
sage-devel, sage-support, debian-sage, cython, enthought-dev,
abinit-forum, abinit-developer, axiom-developer, ipython-dev,
ipyton-user, libmesh-devel, libmesh-user, matplotlib-devel,
matplotlib-user, ginac-list, gmsh, pypy-dev, python-dev

so basically, all of the lists I am on have this, only debian ones,
mercurial, docutils don't.

What about the sympy-patches mailinglist?

Just a late 'vote' :)

I think I'm +1 to what Abderrahim says - i.e. to filter messages based
on List-Id - that saves some subject space.
