I have little experience with my Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. I'd like to
install the Bible in modern English and German, but I don't know how
to start. What files do I need? How do I get them onto my Nokia? I
have "Nokia Music" and "Ovi Suite" on my PC, but they seem to be
geared up for music and videos...

Hi,

The following instruction applies if you are using Windows.

* First you will need to download the bible reader:

The latest file for Nokia 5800 is s60bible_s60v5.zip

you can click the following link:

http://symbianbible.googlegroups.com/web/s60bible_s60v5.zip?gda=xV1hgkQAAAAtbXfIKTfP0R1xZqhYtrL9C11PPbQzfhAdGiNBTYChGUIyk4RZNDn6zCv3eFOjaDpV6u9SiETdg0Q2ffAyHU-dzc4BZkLnSFWX59nr5BxGqA

You will need to unzip this file to get the .sisx files

* Then download one or more of the bible files that you want from:

http://groups.google.com/group/symbianbible/files

The file extension should be PDB. If it is in .ZIP, then you must extract it.

Someone care to upload a free German Bible there? I have a German
version, but not sure about the copyright/license.

* Then you will need to install Nokia PC Suite

http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/nokia-pc-suite/download

You need to read the instruction of the software to connect to your
phone. There are many ways to connect your Nokia to your computer
(using data cable, bluetooth, or infrared), choose one that applies to
you. Nokia should provide you with free data cable for Nokia 5800.

I am not using Windows right now, so I can not give the exact menu
names from the following instructions.

After you install the PC Suite, you should be able to double click the
.sisx files, and it will be installed to your phone. If not, then you
will need to access the menu in PC Suite to install the software.

Using Nokia PC Suite, you should be able to create a folder in the
phone memory or memory card of the phone . Create a folder named
"Bibles" (anything is fine actually), copy the PDB files that you get
to the folder that you just created.

Start the application in your phone. You should see a message that
says "Bible Not found". Choose "Bible" then "Update Bible List". Now
you should be able to see the first bible that the program found. You
can now switch to other bible versions that you want.

please ask If there are some steps that is still not clear.

Thank you so much, Yohannes! It's wonderful to receive a truly helpful
reply in such a forum. Now I'm just waiting for a (modern) German
translation!

Bless you, Viktor

Hey greyowl,
If you happen to have a (modern) German Bible in .txt format (if not
maybe you can get it for a PC Bible software) then maybe I can help
you create the .pdb file for S60Bible.

Hi Yohanes,

Thank you for creating a great apps like this.
I've been looking everywhere to get a bible apps for my Nokia 5800.

I have a question though.
Somehow I can't download the bible files,
for example when I click the Contemporary English Version Bible.rar,
all I got is a web page full with codes written all over the screen.

Would you please help me to show how to download it to my phone?

Thanks again,
Herman
