Hi all,

a couple of us are working on the beginnings of an open source EDA
tool which is being developed in Python.

The principal issues we're having are:

1. We are hardware engineers with varying amounts of software
experience and skill.
2. The tool has to run on windows and linux (command line only, no
GUI).
3. I am grappling with the whole package / module thing in Python.

So what I'd be interested in is getting some advice and perhaps
contribution to the project in the areas of architecture and how to
get the tool to work reliably on multiple platforms.

My post was a little unclear, I'm looking for a volunteer / mentor or
two to help. I think an initial discussion over drinks (our shout)
and potentially some dinner would make a good informal initial first
step.

If you explain further what an EDA tool is maybe you'll get a better response.

It's this something like gEDA/Eagle or some type of plugin or?

Hi

I'm going through the release process at the moment for a few apps and
happy to meet and compare notes.

I recently got some good tips from Karl Fogel, author of O'Reilly book
Producing Open Source Software (free download available), which I'd be
happy to pass on.
