Good morning everyone,

I am moving soon and I have a few items which are taking up space.  If anyone might want them I can bring them to the space this evening or on Saturday.

I have:

an older LG 17" (square) LCD monitor (read about it here).  Maybe the space could use this for the laser or Up?  I can't remember what kind of monitors they currently have.

an old Panasonic digital video camera.  (read about it here).  It was originally waterproof (probably not anymore) took pretty poor video and crappy pictures!  Frankly I don't see why anyone would want it except for pulling apart and using for something else, which I know lots of you are good at so I don't want to throw it out without at least asking.  I have everything that came with it except for the SD card.

I also have an older computer (I think I bought it in 06) which is in a horribly huge case (here).  I think it was around $1600 (!!!) new and the last time I turned it on about a year ago it worked fine.  Again, I don't really expect anyone to want this but I hate the idea of just throwing it out...so if anyone wants anymore info let me know and i will find some details.

BTW If anyone has a Raspberry Pi taking up too much space that they would like to swap that would be awesome! (I can't see how a Pi could be 'taking up too much space' but hey it's worth a try.)

Thanks and sorry if i've wasted anybody's time with this long winded email.
Ray

Hi Ray,
I know the space would love DVI based monitors.

Hi Kris,

Please excuse my ignorance - is the monitor I have DVI based?  I know it came with an adaptor similar to this:
Which I had to use to plug it into the graphics card...

Anyway, if it is right for the space I will bring it in tonight.

Hi Ray,
If the big end of that adapter (not the blue end) plugged into the monitor and not the computer then yes, you have DVI monitor.
But it sounds like you plugged the adapter into the computer, meaning your monitor is VGA, not DVI.
Gav has stated that the space is ok for non DVI monitors.
Thanks anyway!

Hi Kris,

Yep, the adaptor plugged into the computer, so VGA.

Not to worry.  I will try to find a home for it elsewhere!

Thanks
Ray
