This is just a quick email to let you and your community know about MEMEBRAIN.
dLux MediaArts launches the inaugural MEMEBRAIN Art HackFest. Partnering with Dorkbot (Sydney), Darwin Community Arts (Darwin) and Kulchajam (Byron Bay) to bring together artists, designers, techies and more to come together in a cross-locational HackFest.
In a unique hot house of ideas, creatives will design, play and build projects that challenge the way we use are and digital media to affect cultural perceptions. MEMEBRAIN Art Hackfest will provide an opportunity for the local
Sydney community and our partner locations and ISEA delegates to engage in a momentous electric exchange in a casual, entertaining and social atmosphere.
“This is an exciting opportunity to bring together artistic communities to open up the exchange of creativity between the regions and the bigger cities. The ‘hack’ ethos brings the sense of play and experimentation to be at the forefront of innovation” (Alexia Estrellado, Program Manager)
Featured as part of the Portals Project in ISEA2013 the HackFest will take over the underground spaces of Chatswood’s new cultural centre. The general public
are invited to interact with the projects online throughout the hack, as well as join the teams on the final day for a closing and live performances.
MEMEBRAIN will continue as a project arm for dLux MediaArts and will be a means to support the current and active studio practice of digital media and technology through projects, workshops and events to encourage innovative thinking.
