Hey guys, not sure where the post went before but anyone looking for something interesting to do tomorrow evening should definitely check out the opening of protohub, a kind of community space for designers and makers. I checked their space out and it's pretty neat and right on oxford st, but quite bare atm...

I'll be going tonight, I'm really excited about this space opening up in the middle of town.

I popped down there during the day (it's right under my Darlinghurst Fishburners/EngineRoom space). It's mainly an industrial designer space and is currently setup to have a few areas about 10sqm each for other industrial designers to run their businesses.
The guy who runs it has a few machines in his area that other people can use and I think there will be a low-power laser cutter in there soon.

He's not really setup for drop-ins or casual membership ATM, and isn't sure if he's going to do that.
I'm excited to have some machines downstairs that I could potentially use though. I might have to strike a deal with him :)
