This isn't a new thing. They own enough of your Thingies for them to
do the business of sharing them with the internet and have done
officially since Februrary. The terms are the same as what they were
when they finally got around to having a lawyer write them back in
February.

An interesting read..

Ahh.. the perils of opensource hardware. Look up the contraversal (and
failed) Tangibot on kickstarter, a Makerbot rip-off clone.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mattstrong/the-tangibot-3d-printe...

The funny part is that you can get an even cheaper chinese clone of the
Makerbot now. And they are not afraid of publishing their own
rip-offedness.. (yes, that is a real word, just because I say so).

Who wants a fully assembled Cupcake for $699?

IANAL

This is a standard license for user generated content, and it's
upsetting to see people once again trying to stir the pot using it, as
they have before with almost every UGC site.

Note the following at the end of the paragraph on the license:
"...solely for the purposes of including your User Content in the Site
and Services" . Note that this is not an exclusive license either.

Companies *must* ensure they are granted a license to reproduce your
works, otherwise by displaying your uploaded works to other users they
open themselves up to liability.

Prusa is just being a troll, and makerbot don't deserve this sort of
trouble after the work they've put into the site.

Regards,
James
