Hackerspace Projects

Hi All

I'm James Bullen, a journalist from Popular Science Magazine... some
of you may have met me when I visited the hackerspace about a month
ago (or you may have met another contributor to the magazine, Lindsay
Handmer, who is editor of the How2.0 section of the mag). As part of
our next issue we're running a story on hackerspaces and are
interested in featuring some of the projects that have gone on at R&D.
I was wondering if anyone on the mailing list would be interested in
having their project featured as part of the story (it would be a 150-
word description with a few pics)... if so:

1). Would you be able to send a brief explanation of how your project
was made, where you got the idea from, how it works/what it does to my
email address?

2). Two accompanying photos for the text of your project - highest
resolution is best, and if you have a selection of images please send
them all!

3). The deadline is tomorrow (7/6/12). Unfortunately I wasn't aware
the projects section would be included in the piece until recently,
and haven't been able to make my way to the space in that time. But
feel free to send projects after tomorrow, also, if you don't get
something in - as I'm fairly sure Lindsay may be including a
hackerspace project in the How2.0 section of the magazine for the next
couple of issues at least.

Thanks for your help - looking forward to checking out the projects.

Hi James, I remember you were possibly planning on coming tonight to the space. Many of us made a mad last minute dash over the mountains yesterday to see the transit of Venus after the weather turned bad. So unforotunately there might not be many people or projects there tonight

Hi Gavin

No worries! I might make it down some time in the future - but
anything sent over email by tomorrow will still be fine.

Very impressive dedication in making it over the mountains - how did
the viewing go? Hope you managed to get some good views.
