ASE 11.9.2 ct_connect error to two endpoints failed

I had this error recently but I could not find a appropiate explanation,
rather for the occurance of the failure itself nor for the meaning.
So I decided to reboot SQL-Server and the NT server and Database user
could login again.
Maybe someone could give me an explanation.
The error message again: ct_connect to two endpoints failed

Hi Jörg,

This message basically mean one of the following:
1. no entry in sql.ini for the server you try to connect to
2. sql.ini entry exists, but is pointing to the wrong machine name or port
3. sql.ini is OK, but the server is down
