We have noticed that every time dbsrv50 is unloaded from the server (
unload dbsrv50 ) that not all of the memory resources are being
released. Do you know of a fix or procedure we could do to allow
sqlanywhere to release all resources?

We unload sqlanywhere twice a day and over time this causes memory
leaks on our servers. The current version of sqlanywhere we are running is
sqlanywhere 5.5.02 Build # 1495 on netware 4.11

Below is sample messages from the log file:

We have fixed many memory leaks in the engine in the last 4 years (that's
when 5502 was released). I would suggest downloading the v5505 maintenance
release and the latest 5505 ebf from the link in my signature.

On 3.12 the memory leak was a killer. Supposedly on 4.x+ the leaks get
cleaned up. Is that not correct? (I was an admin on 3.12 but no longer
had to do that when 4 came out)

Having said that, can you explain why you have to shut down the database
server twice a day? To perform backups there is no need to shut it down
at all. In fact, I usually try to avoid shutting it down at all. There
are a number of different ways to do this if you are interested.

I think that a garbage collector runs every 15 minutes on Netware 4.x and
above that re-allocates lost memory.
