Hi there,

could someone help me out with some hints considering the question
whether there is a way to restart the LTM using a new transaction log
file. Imagine the replication is set up and running. Know you stop the
the LTM and the replication server and backup the database. During
backup you decide to start out with a new transaction log. So the files
(.db and .log) will be copied to your backup directory and a new
transaction log file is created. If you startup the replication again
the LTM will shutdown with the following error.

I. 99/03/01 14:57:42. LTM truncation offset is 002703201
E. 99/03/01 14:57:42. Missing transaction log(s)
E. 99/03/01 14:57:42. Error processing log due to missing log(s)
I. 99/03/01 14:57:42. Beginning LTM shutdown sequence. Freeing
resources...
I. 99/03/01 14:57:43. LTM Shutdown Complete

How can I make the LTM forget the truncation offset an set it back to
the initial value of FFFFFFFFF?

Thanks a lot for your kindly advice. I'm new to replication so I guess
it's a simple question.

Hi,
You may try to execute the stored procedure "rs_zeroltm" to reset at the
RSSD. This will ask RS to search the transaction log for starting point.
