Extended Attribute Issue

I have an Extended Attribute defined in the Physical Model for which there is no equivalent in the Logical Model. My expectation is that PowerDesigner would ignore that attribute when generating the Physical Model from the Logical Model, since I have Preserve Modifications checked. However, PowerDesigner sometimes tries to clear the Extended Attribute value on the Physical side. This is annoying at best, but I'm at danger of losing data every time I promote.
Has anyone out there done much work with Extended Attributes? I was wondering if anyone else was dealing with the same issue and, if so, knows of a workaround.
I'm currently using version 16.1.0.3790 EBF11.
