Hello,

I wanted to know if PowerBuilder runtime can be deployed on a Linux
machine (specifically Fedora Core 3 or 4). Probably using Wine. Will
ODBC data sources work and can we connect to ASE Express running on
another Linux box?

We had requested Sybase long time back that they should bring out a PB
runtime for Linux. I believe they started work on that. Any idea when
we can expect it to be released. EAS already runs on linux and contains
PB runtime inside.

AFAIK this step would make PB very popular and also help cut down
deployment cost for large installations, especially in developing
countries.

TIA

If you are using Google to post messages to the newsgroups, you will
*not* receive a reply. Messages posted through Google never reach the
Sybase newsgroup server, so we don't see them in order to respond to
them. You should post your question using a standard newsgroup reader
or the web based newsreaders at my.sybase.com or www.pfcguide.com.
Google is great for searching the Sybase newsgroups, but you can't post
to them from there.
