Formerly, it is impossible to install latest Sybase Database
(ASE 15.0.2) on Latest Linux system because of glibc issues.
With ESD#5, it become possible and easy now.

I have installed ASE 15.0.2 Developer Edition on Fedora 9
without any errors,
Just write down my steps as following, hope it can help
others

1. Install Fedora 9 with typical selections.
2. Apply the latest patches (automatically update features,
just like windows system)
3.install libaio-0.3.106-4.2.i386.rpm from Fedora 9 DVD
(without libaio, I can not create Master Database)
4.install libXp-1.0.0-11.fc9.i386.rpm from rpm.pbone.net
(Maybe I can also use libXpm-1.0.0-11.fc9.i386.rpm from DVD)
(Without this package, I got error - The installer is
unable to run in graphical mode. Try running the installer
with the -console or -silent flag when I run Sybase Setup)
5. Install Real Java from Java.com, swith Fedora 9 to use
Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 6 instead of
OpenJDK
here is the link for instruction
http://www.gagme.com/greg/linux/f9-tips.php#java
6. download Sybase ASE 15.0.2 from sybase website
7. dowlnoad EBF15682.tgz from sybase website
8. tuniing Linux kernel parameters and create sybase
account. (from ASE installation guide)
9. Run Sybase setup without creating any servers
10. Run #ESD 5 setup from EBF15682.tgz , It will ask me
again to create all servers.
So I create
Database Server, Backup Server, Monitor Server … all
successfully.

My machine - IBM thinkpad T30 , 512MB physical memory, 2GB
swap partition with Fedora 9.
