Multiple Sybase Instance on a Windows and ASE 15.7 configuration.

We're in the process of planning and testing our move from ASE 15.0.3 to ASE 15.7. We run sybase on Windows. To do this were just going to build new 15.7 instances and load 15.0.3 backups onto them. This in itself works OK. The problem I'm having at the moment is that a number of our 15.0.3 machines have multiple Sybase instances on them. I've looked through the Windows installation Guide and there isn't anything about creating additional instances on a single Windows server.... more »

How to find out slow running SQL from a batch?

Hi,
I am on Sybase 12.5 . One of our overnight batch is slowing down day by day, in production. From the Perl script, we call a stored procedure. There are not many print comnands in the procedure and there are several select, insert and updates in there. Hence it is not easy to conclude which SQL from the proc is slow.... more »

Hi,
I am new to to sybase and i am using ASE12.5.
I have created a table with timestamp data type
ex: create table testing
(c1 int,c2 int,t_stamp timestamp)
but when i insert value am not able to get date in proper format.

ASE Connection String CharSet - C# WinForm

I have a Sybase ASE 12.5 database which has Estonian characters. When I run query in SQL Advantage and set the CharSet to 'cp850', the query result that is returned, displays the correct characters.
I have a C# WinForm application that display table data in a GridView and in my application when the data is displayed, it does not show the special characters.... more »

I am looking for latest EBF (10?) for ASE 12.5.4 on AIX. I cannot see it on sybase.download.com nor on SPDC (the oldest one is 15.0.3). I know it is not supported anymore but I need it for some tests.

I have been given task for supporting databases in Japanese language.
I have no knowledge of japanese language.
Is there anyway I can support these databases in english.
Can I query this database with english style commands.
