I currently have the following 4 old astronomy books for sale,
available as a
group for $25 plus $5 postage (book rate within the US). The books
are:
"Elements of Astronomy" by Edward Fath, published in 1928 by McGraw-
Hill. The
323 page hardbound book is in fine condition, clean and fresh inside
and out
except for a previous owners name inside the front cover. Nicely
illustrated
throughout. Burgundy cloth covers with gold lettering on the spine.
Very nice.
"The Sun and the Welfare of Man" edited by Charles Abbot, published in
1934 as
Volume 2 of the Smithsonian Scientific Series (each of the books in
this series
cover a different topic). The 322 page page hardbound book is in fine
condition, clean with no page tears or pen marks. Burgundy leather
covers, with
a nice green embossed seal of the Smithsonian Institute on the front
cover. A
very nice text.
"Nature of the Universe" by Fred Hoyle, published in 1951. The 121
page
hardbound book is in very good condition, clean inside and out, and
with a
strong binding. The book is comprised of a series of broadcast talks
by Hoyle.
Very good condition, in a fair (chipped) dust jacket.
"Our Sun" by Donald Menzel, published in 1950 by the Blakiston Company
as part
of the Harvard Books on Astronomy series. The 326 page hardbound book
is in
very good condition, clean with no page tears or pen marks other than
a
previous owners name inside the front cover. Burgundy cloth covers
with gold
lettering on the front cover and spine. Overall a nice text in very
good
condition.
If interested, please email to "Oldbo...@aol.com" to reserve.
Thanks, and
best regards.
