QA Manager

Summary

The QA Manager is responsible for managing all activities of a QA team
engaged in but not limited to test planning, execution, functional
test automation, and performance testing. In this role, you will
provide leadership, direction, expertise, and hands-on assistance to a
team of QA engineers responsible for ensuring the quality of the
company’s enterprise applications. As a member of the QA management
team, you will work with a variety of groups across multiple
disciplines to streamline, integrate, and continuously improve the
effectiveness of the QA organization. As a manager you will be
responsible for administrating policies for employee development,
performance planning and reviews, counseling, and evaluations.

Essential Functions

* Develop and execute a complete end-to-end test strategy for assigned
products and features including verification of functionality,
performance and scalability. * Develop and execute a functional test
automation strategy that delivers substantial ROI and measurable
increases in QA efficiency using off-the-shelf and custom test
automation tools. * Develop and execute performance, stress,
stability, and benchmarking test strategies that ensure our products
meet or exceed performance targets. * Provide technical expertise in
the use of software testing tools to QA engineers developing
automation architectures, custom test tools, and complex network test
environments. * Working closely with members in Technical Support,
develop an understanding of customer calls for assigned product(s) and
continuously refine the test strategy and processes to increase
customer satisfaction. * Continuously streamline and improve the
testing life cycle to ensure test planning, execution, and reporting
are effective, agile, and coordinated. * Lead intra- and
interdepartmental process initiatives as assigned by the QA Director.
* Work closely with development, product management, documentation,
IT, and technical support to ensure that the quality objectives of all
projects are met within schedule constraints. * Clearly communicate QA
results, concerns, and project status to the engineering management
team and other stakeholders in a timely manner. * Proactively manage
the performance of your team members through coaching, training,
rewarding strong performance, and addressing performance issues
directly and with fairness if/when they arise. * This position may
manage software engineers working within the Quality Assurance
department.

QA Manager

The QA Manager is responsible for daily supervision of the Quality
Assurance staff including:

* Ensuring all departments’ compliance to the required corporate
procedures for product and project management, through the auditing
program. * Ensuring the agreed upon ISO processes are fully and
effectively implemented throughout the organization. * Ensuring the QA
engineers perform their assignments and provide the necessary QA
guidance to internal customers. * Providing leadership and technical
guidance to the assigned engineers. * Responsibility for the proper
conduct and performance of the assigned engineers. * Perform accurate
estimates of QA effort, time and resources required for new products
and projects based on the applicable requirements. * QA Manager will
report to the Director of Quality and Systems Assurance.

Requirements:

* At least 5 years experience as a Quality Engineer in an R&D
environment, which included product development and project
management. * Experience in manufacturing work environment preferred.
* Certification by ASQ as a Certified Quality Engineer or Certified
Software Quality Engineer required. * Demonstrated experience in
implementation of the following ISO standards: 9001:2008, 14001:2004.
Experience with the ISO process approach. * Demonstrated ability to
professionally interact with customers and various departments *
Supervisory experience in managing technical issues required.
Experience in supervising personnel preferred.
