Joanne, are you referring to this?:  http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/jul/13/ridge-line-protection-proposals-public-meetings/

If so, this meeting is about "a set of proposed development policies aimed at protecting the ridge lines and hillsides" throughout Knox County.  This meeting encompasses much more than the water tower that was recently constructed along Cherokee Trail.  As the New Sentinel article states, more information can be found at http://www.knoxmpc.org/hillside/index.htm

One more note.  According to the News Sentinel article the meeting begins at 6:30, not 7:00

Alex is correct. This is the first in a series of public meetings put on by the Joint City/County Task Force on Ridge, Slope and Hillside Development and Protection  . I'm co-chairman of that group, along with Knox County Commissioner Tony Norman (he's one of the good guys). The task force has been working for over a year on these issues, and now has draft recommendations ready to share with the public as potential policy changes.

I hope everyone can come join us at the meeting tonight at South Doyle Middle School at 6:30.

I hope the next meetings are more productive than this one. I was
embarassed at the antics of Lumpy Lambert and someone named Lonnie who
co-opted the agenda of the hard-working task force and made it all
about them. Those two didn't even has enough decency to show up on time
and watch the presentation. I hope Joe and Tony will come up with a
plan to deal with disruptive attendees at these meetings. What should
have been good questions and discussions went downhill like the mud off
of our hillsides. Maybe I should have known the issue is all about
money but I am angry that two men were allowed to do such damage to the
effort to make Knoxville a better place.

A NYT/CBS News poll this weekend found that 72 percent of Americans
support creating a public health insurance option. (6/22/09)
