Hi Bob

My name is Uli and I live in Germany. As a hobby I restore bikes of the 70s - especially "Bonanza" bikes, which are "the german aswer" to the Stingrays.

A few weeks ago I found an online advertisement for a blue Swingbike in the Netherlands. I've never seen a swingbike before and immediately fell in love with it. But what have I done…? The restoration will be more work than I have ever expected: sandblasting, powdercoating, a broken frame, a broken seat post, a lot of rust, a rotten banana seat... Two weeks later I found another green Swingbike in the Netherlands and bought it too. Could it be I'm an addict...?

If you are interested you can take a look at some restoration pics here:

http://www.forumromanum.de/member/forum/entry_ubb.user_143036.2.1108675653.1108675653.1.swingbike_restauration_oder_ach_du_scheisse-b_o_n.html

Of course the stickers have been destroyed by the sandblasting process and I am in need for new ones. Please let me know if there is any chance to get replacement stickers for my Swingbikes.

Unfortunately these bikes are very (very, very) rare and totally unknown in Germany. I am not able to get any parts here. Maybe you can help me?

Also I am desperately searching for:

Blue banana seat (totally rotten)

Seat post (broken)

Rear fender (or do you say mudguard? chrome is totally rusted)

The screw to fasten the rear wheel (missing)

Stickers for the frame and the triangular ones for the fork (totally damaged and missing after sandblasting)

Sissy bar (not that important - only a lot of scratches)

Stem and handlebar (not that important - only a lot of scratches)

Maybe you know someone that can help me? Any help or advise would be very appreciated!!!

Please let me know if there's anything you can do for me. Thanks a lot for your help and greetings from Germany, Uli

If you click on page on your browser next to safety and settings you
can then click on google translate. It will get it close.

It looks like he had the seat post made out of stainless steel. I can
build you one out of mild steel for about $30 shipped. I have built
probably 40-50 seatposts.

Thanks for the reply, I was trying to post a reply on the discussion board. Havent figured that out yet.

I will keep you in mind for the seat post. I am able to make one also, but, I havent checked out prices for square tubing in my area. when i got my bike it had one but was mangle, I weigh 220 and will need one to hold up to that.

Thanks again,
Damien
