OK all you scurvy naves, the long awaited ISSA/MPS photos are now on line.
Be ye forwarned, the pages will be slow loading because the images are
full size and high resolution. I don't have enough storage space or energy
to create smaller thumbnails and intermediate versions of every photo.
I've omitted the photo's that were only of the sky, or Kam taking a leak
:-| so they are all up there, some 1075 in total. The good, the bad, and
the ugly.

Have fun.

http://www.xmission.com/~rharper/ISSAPage1.html to start.

45 pages total.

Robert:

I'd put a condition on the photos that they are copyright 2009, your
daughter and that they are being provided for non-commercial viewing for
class mailing list members and regatta participants only. You would not
want anyone appropriating the work without attribution and permission.
I'm sure that model releases were not obtained from all participants as
well, so you don't want your daughter subject to lawsuits or problems.
Besides, there's probably a magazine cover shot or two in there - your
daughter may need a new laptop or whatever for school.

Just a thought in our dangerous digital world.

I agree. Maybe in the future, some blanket releases should be part of the
registration packet for those taking photo's.

Once the photo's are on line, it is hard to stop anyone that wants to
pirate photo's. Sure you would have a legal case but then the barrior to
entry to the courts would be prohibitive, especially for over seas and out
of country infringements.

Part of what took so long was getting Katie to sit down long enough that
we could talk about this issue. She said she didn't want to charge her
friends but I know she'd like to at least get credit. One of her other
photo's of Fugu was recently used for the Utah Summer Games promotional.
She was a little miffed that they didn't credit her and I haven't seen the
persone responsible so I could make them aware of the issues.

All that for what it is, I'm sure that if someone wanted to donate to her
camera/computer fund, she wouldn't turn it down. I eased the burden on the
rest of you by buying her another huge memory card for her camera. She had
a great time being part of the event and didn't want to seem predatory to
her new friends.

Hays has redone the pages and set up on another server. His job looks and
works much better than my "quick and dirty" work this moring.
