Hi all, Sally Pereira from the Bradwell group in Derbyshire has come up with the idea of marking out houses with nesting swifts by giving them a "badge of honour”. It would be perhaps a ceramic piece with a simple image and a short statement such as “Swifts nest here”. The purpose would be to mark out swift nesting sites so that in the event of a house being sold, the new owners would be aware, as well as celebrating the fact that Swifts nest there. What do people think? And if the idea has legs, does anyone have ideas about how we could get them produced? I’m happy to provide artwork for them, but haven’t found a way of manufacturing them yet.

Hi Lucy,
Sounds good. 'badge of Honour' or 'Swift Champion(s)' also perhaps?

I love this idea, and it could be a very useful way of utilising Keeping up
with the Jones's to encourage people to look after their swifts!
I think the garden wildlife campaign offers a plaque for winners, so
there's maybe some pre existing templates.
