Ventilation system doesn't work

I recently posted an idea for cooling boxes in a hot loft here

I have to report that it doesn't work. Probably needs larger diameter tubes. So we have redeployed the extractor fan to suck air out of the loft into the soot door in the chimney, controlled by a thermostat. It seems to move plenty of air. Will report back on whether it is enough.
