Select a directory and upload all files?

Hi is there a way to have the user select a directory and upload all
*.doc files from that directory? something like a dialog box users
select Doc_file folder and then all the files are automatically
selected with *.doc extensions and starts uploading once they click
submit.

Hello,
Was there a solution to this problem? I would also like users to have the ability to upload a directory.
