Hi all,

i'm using swffit and it works great, but i came across another
problem,
if the swf gets bigger than 4000 pixels you are still able to scroll
down, but you can't see the content anymore after 4000 .
this problem concern flash itself, not swffit, but i guess some of you
faced the same problem,
do you have any idea how to solve it?

i found this tutorial, which actually does,
http://www.kontain.com/fi/entry/89/684
but i still failed in putting together the 2 scripts....

any help would be great,
thanks
marco

yeap.. that's the solution.. I've never tried to make it work together
with swffit - I've never created a flash bigger than 4000px..

which features of swffit do you need? only minimum size? do you also
need rescaling? both axis?

I think it shouldn't be hard to make it work together with swffit.. it
should be only a matter of listening to the scroll event and detecting
when you need to call the flash method..

I don't know if I'll have time to try it out but anything I let you know.

please post if you have any progress.

thanks,

Marco,

I've done some experiments and what I've discovered is that the best way is to keep the flash movie smaller than 4050px ( http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/496/cpsid_49662.html ) and if you need a really big flash file make the scroll inside flash or make a pagination (choose whatever is best for your project)..

F-I solution for some reason doesn't work properly on Opera and I don't think that it is future-proof. (just imagine an smartphone that runs flash or another crazy new browser...)

If you have a vertical scrollbar inside flash use swffit only to limit the horizontal size like:  swffit.fit('my_flash', 1000, 1);

my test files are here: http://labs.millermedeiros.com/index.php?dir=flash%2FunlimitedHei

both tests aren't optimized and doesn't uses swffit (is impossible to make swffit work together with v0.2) v0.1 doesn't work on Opera10 and v0.2 doesn't work on IE6. - I DON'T RECOMMEND USING ANY OF THOSE TECHNIQUES !!

I'm not going to spend my time anymore trying to figure out how to do it because of the things that I've described on this e-mail.

cheers,
