I noticed this too. If you resize the browser so it is small and scroll
bars appear, the initial action of the arrow keys is directed to the
window. After clicking the select button, selected elements capture the
event and the elements move.
I found your post because I was looking for a way to capture the arrow

Update :
The project is over. There is still some small issues : text is not
synchronizable yet and undo issues

For other users' reference, the SVG's MIME type (or "content") is
"image/svg+xml"

I think you need to add the svg mime type to your server.

I came across this recently as well and tried to modify the loading
sequence to wait for the window to completely load before entering an svg
data, but that did not help.
Sorry I could not be of more assistance, I'll post an update when I find a
solution.

I recently copied SVG Edit 2.6 from one website to another, and on the new
site I'm getting no icons in SVG Edit. Everything seems to be working fine,
just no icons are displaying in the editor! In the error console, I'm
getting this error:

Afterthought- I know you can use custom fonts using @font-face in SVG Edit,
but is it possible to use SVG based fonts instead of TTF fonts and instead
edit the glyphs in the SVG font to show desired effects? So far my attempts
to use SVG fonts has failed, only TTF seem to work

Update : It appears that importSvgString() is not a good solution, because
it adds tags we do not need...
We now focus on the function addSvgElementFromJson(). Indeed it appears

As far as I know the ready() is fired when all Javascript is loaded in the
page, not the media (icons, images...). The first time you load the page,
the javascript files are dowloaded faster than the media (is just a size
matter). When you reload the page, all the media is already in your cache

I want to add Uml shapes like use case, arrows ,dotted arrow, and want to
have attributes for the arrow to move from one side and the other remains

I have tried this fix, but without success. The issue I am having is that
the svg_edit_icons.svg file is downloaded, but the icons contained in the
file are not displaying icons for the tool buttons.
This happens only the first time the page is loaded. Likewise, it seems
like the svgEditor.ready() event does not fire like you mentioned above.
