I haven't had this particular brand, but unless it's glass the photochromatic effect in polymers decreases over time.  The one I had did a good job for one summer.  Even then the effect wasn't strong enough in a rising or setting sun to make a huge difference, but I did squint less during the day. 
 
Luckily, the one I bought also served as an anti-fog shield as well, so it sits on my street helmet to this day.  For the track I just use a dark smoke or a light smoke shield (Shoei RF1000). 
 
If one summer or a couple seasons is cost-effective to you, I'd say go for it...but in my case it wasn't the main selling point for me, anti-fog is still more important. 
 
I ended just floating on (like a decal) a piece of window tint for about 2" of my visor, just above my main line of sight, I can tip my head down an inch or so in the morning or evening and that works for me.
