Corporate Responsibility is beyond charity and philanthropy.
Companies practicing Corporate Responsibility need to go beyond
statutory requirements and integrate social, environmental and ethical
concerns into their business strategy.
To develop and implement an effective CR programme it is essential
that management at all levels understand the scope and content of
corporate responsibility so that they can make value added
contributions towards building the company's brand image and
reputation. Training vital. CR will only be effective if employees are
fully engaged. Attitutes or behaviour will not change unless
employees have the necessary knowledge and skills to develop and
implement CR activities.
The Global Gandhian Trusteeship & Corporate Responsibility Foundation,
a registered Trust, through its publication CRBiz, is organising a
two day workshop on CR Essentials in Bangalore on August 21-22, 2008.
The programme has been designed for managment personnel in
corporates, working at various levels, SMEs, management students and
NGOs engaging with the business sector.
The programme has been designed to help participants increase their
awareness level and learn about the new trends emerging in India and
abroad. Participants will be guided through the fundamentals of CR,
examining the development of Corporate Responsibility in the context
of India. Using case studies and pratical examples participants will
be provided an understanding of the basics of CR. The programme will
help participants to increase their awareness of the CR and its
various components. They will also learn how to design their
programmes keeping in mind the interests of the company's
stakeholders, including employees and local communities.
The Organisers: CRBiz is the only print publication on Corporate
Social Responsibility in India. The media arm of the Global Gandhian
Trusteeship & Corporate Responsibility Foundation, CRBiz is a not for
profit social enterprise. The publication aims to promote corporate
responsibility among business and build partnerships between
corporates,NGOs and government in order to advance sustainable
development across the region. CRBiz has already organised three
similar workshops New Delhi Oct 2007, Hyderabad Jan 2008 and Chennai
April 2008
Faculty: The training programme has been designed by experienced

Interaction between Corporates and NGOs
Cost and Registration: The cost of the non resident course per
participant is Rs 6,000 for corporates, Corporate sponsored
Foundations and Funding Agencies, a Rs 500 early bird rebate on
registrations, along with fee, received before August 1,2008. For
three or more participants from the same organization a further Rs 500
discount per participant. Rs 3,500 for SMEs and NGOs, A Rs 250 early
bird discount for all registrations, along with fees received before
August 1,2008. In addition another Rs 250 discount for three or more
participants from the same organization. Rs 2,000 for post graduate
and MBA students and Rs 1,500 for undergraduate students. No refund
will be allowed for cancellations made after August 5,2008.
