Subject: University of Alberta Food Security Dialogue 2014 - CALL FOR ABSTRACT

Good Morning,

The University of Alberta’s Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences will be hosting a Food Security Dialogue on April 30 – May 2, 2014 entitled, “Enhancing Food Production, Gender Equality and Nutritional Security in a Changing World”.

We would like to cordially invite you to submit an abstract by 9 February 2014 for a selected paper or poster on one of the four following themes;

1.     Sustainable agricultural systems -- agronomy, livestock systems, aquaculture and animal health within the broader context of sustainable agricultural systems.

2.     Gender and livelihoods -- gender, social protection, and specialization vs. diversification of livelihoods.

3.     Nutritional security -- relations between food, agriculture, health and nutrition.

4.     Economics, value chains and policy -- micro-economic analysis, value chain and market studies, macro-level studies, quantitative and qualitative policy studies.

Please see the attached Call for Abstracts PDF for further details on the Dialogue and how to submit an abstract.

Best Regards,

Shannon Baker
