Henrietta is back from Washington DC, where I personally gave Congressman Sam Farr the beautifully matted gift card set MaryBell sent with the bobcat image on the flier (below) as the first card (plus coyotes and other), and he loved it-- soon we will upload pix of Farr posing with Gordon Smith and me holding the card (Gordon will do this).  Other recipients of MaryBell's cards included Senators Feinstein and Boxer (given to their aides who we met with), the Undersecretary of the Army for Base Installations and the Environment (bobcats made it through the heavy-duty Pentagon security!), and Acting Deputy Director of BLM in the Dept of the Interior. They all appreciated the compelling photos and lovely matting that set them off so nicely.
At Kay's suggestion, I also gave thank you cards to the very hardworking staff from the Conservation Lands Foundation who arranged the DC trip and have done lots of behind-the-scenes work to help our community permanently protect the bobcat, coyote and other habitat that we enjoy on BLM/federal land via a new National Monument.

More on this later-- I'm pretty jet-lagged
