Details below. Your presence is needed in support of finding another place for MST. This is a strong quality of life issue.
Thanks so much,
Kay

Subject: You have less than a week

Friends, MST has not budged in their planned devastation of the Whispering Oaks habitat and Fort Ord greenway access. You have less than a week to oppose this travesty. Here are your action items:

1. Email the supervisors and MST directors today (c...@co.monterey.ca.us, m...@mst.org). One sentence is enough. Urge that Whispering Oaks and the Sgt Allan MacDonald Cavalry Trail be kept "as is." If you have already sent your email, get a friend to do so as well.

2. Attend the MST board meeting Monday, February 13, 10am, One Ryan Ranch Road, Monterey. Tens of thousands of county residents oppose the MST board in this action. Ask the board to remove Whispering Oaks from consideration. NOTE: MST IS NOT AT RYAN RANCH. It is located off Canyon del Rey Blvd. From Hwy 1 or Hwy 68, take Canyon del Rey and turn onto Ryan Ranch Road. Turn left into parking lot.

3. Attend the supervisors meeting Tuesday, February 14, 1:30pm. This is your Valentine to future generations. 168 W Alisal, corner of Capitol, Salinas. Arrive early for parking.

MST must not be allowed to destroy the vast public benefit of a beach-to-BLM, open-space, history corridor on Fort Ord, with the ecotourist jobs, cultural enrichment, and desirability of residency that such a system brings. This debacle can end Tuesday. Your supervisors have the power to rescind the rezoning and EIR. Your MST rep has the power to remove Whispering Oaks from consideration.

See you there,
Margaret Davis
