Subject: This Thursday, Free film screening "EARTHLINGS" @ UH Manoa
For the ancient Greeks and nearly 2000 years later education did not
create such a distinction and separation of ethics from science,
philosophy, civil service, etc. In modern times many are taught that
ethical concerns don't necessarily have a place in science and related
studies.

I believe that sustainability and environmental studies is a socially
acceptable way of bringing ethics back into the discussion, for what
else motivates concern for future generations and the living planet?

Earthlings explores the relationship between humans and other
earthlings that share the planet with us.

Please join Animal Rights Hawai'i for a film screening of the award
winning documentary 'EARTHLINGS,' narrated by Golden Globe winner
Joaquin Phoenix and co-produced by Hawaiian-born actress and former
fashion model, Maggie Q. Features music from the critically acclaimed
platinum artist, Moby.

This Thursday, October 29
7 pm
UH Manoa Campus Center Conference Room 220
Free refreshments will be provided

EARTHLINGS is a feature-length documentary about humankind's absolute
economic dependence on animals raised as pets, food, clothing,
entertainment and for scientific research. Using hidden cameras and
never-before-seen footage, EARTHLINGS chronicles the day-to-day
practices at some of the largest industries in the world, all of which
rely entirely on animals for profit. Powerful, informative and thought-
provoking, EARTHLINGS is by far the most comprehensive documentary
ever produced on the correlation between nature, animals and human
economic interests.

Please forward this to everyone you know who may be interested, and
feel free to email me with any questions you have.
