We're looking for project teams to design, test and deploy innovative information technologies to improve the ecological health of the Great Lakes. We hope to create new ways for technology to link decisions to their ecological impact and help shape better choices. The Fund expects to support a number of multi-institution, multi-sector, multi-disciplinary teams in mid-2013. Projects should target a specific ecological outcome, test a potentially disruptive technology-enabled strategy, and involve all sectors affected by the project (typical Fund-supported teams involve over 10 institutions).
We’ve posted a request for five page preliminary proposals on our web site: http://goo.gl/UdNvD We’ve also posted a set of “conversation starters” in the form of potential project descriptions, a set of resource links that prospective teams might find useful, and an initial set of FAQs. We’ll update the FAQs and resource material periodically. Please let us know if you have questions or suggestions for material that others might find useful.
We welcome early submittals, inquiries and conversations. We’ll do our best to be responsive, but expect that this request will generate a lot of interest.
