Hi Everyone,
Susie has graciously allowed us to post information about a research
study that we are completing.
We are graduate students from California State University Dominguez
Hills (CSUDH) Occupational Therapy program and currently in the
process of recruiting participants for our quantitative research study
entitled Comparison of sibling perceptions of being raised with a
brother or sister with non-ambulatory or ambulatory cerebral palsy
(CP).
This study is an extension of a qualitative research study that we
completed last year which involved interviewing 4 adult siblings with
a brother or sister with CP. We decided to explore this topic further,
and are now seeking 120 adult siblings of a brother or sister with CP
to complete a 10-15 minute online survey.
We are recruiting participants who are 1) 18 years or older, 2) have a
sibling with cerebral palsy 3) lived with their sibling with cerebral
palsy for at least 5 years.
We have constructed a website which allows the participant to fill out
an online survey. Upon entering the website, an information page with
contact information will be included for your viewing. Please select
"I Agree" to continue with the survey. The data we collect will remain
completely anonymous. Our research has been approved by the California
State University Dominguez Hills Institutional Review Board.
Our current research aims to increase awareness of the unique needs of
siblings with a brother or sister with cerebral palsy. We are so
hopeful that this research will be a success that we recently
submitted our research to be featured at the American Occupational
Therapy Association's 2010 National Conference.
If you or someone you know would like to participate in this research
please visit http://www.csudh.edu/actech/otsurveyintent.htm
We will be collecting surveys until July 12, 2009.

Thank you very much for your time and your participation!!
