Hi all,

Since many of you are starting up or working from home, we though you may be interested in the following event:
On Thursday 12th November we would like to invite you to the first Hoults Yard Castaway event. The Castaway format was developed as an open office event to avoid expensive bars and to get people to show off their workspace. Some 350 creative business people work on the yard, but how often do we see into each other’s little office ‘islands’ – and how can we break down barriers, build community spirit and explore partner opportunities?

Here’s how. Each event will focus on a corridor or block of the yard. This first event will be held in the Kiln with Hedgehog labs, Urban Digger, Poetic Gem and Northern Film and Media. We hope you’ll come along. We’ll get the party started with some refreshments, but in true house warming fashion, we hope you’ll bring a few beers or nuts. Bring other neighbours or interesting friends, too. It’s all about ‘nebby-nosing’ what other folk are up to. It’ll be a melting pot of Newcastle creative talent!

Castaway1 will coincide with the launch of Somewhere Space, a hot desking studio in The Kiln for start-ups, freelancers and solo workers. It’s already filling up and includes Sailor Girl, a new events business marketing the yard for events. If you have any contacts who may be interested in seeing the Somewhere space, please do invite them along on the 12th.

Castaway1 will start at 4pm. It is very informal so we would like to encourage as many of you as possible to visit to say hello and see what some of your neighbours are up to - you never know what projects might come of it

Hope you can make it :)

Hi guys,

Unfortunately Urban Digger will be at the World Travel Market in London until Friday 13th so won't be around for the first Castaway.

Look forward to meeting everyone at the next event.

Sarah

Hi Steven,

The somewhere space is located within The Kiln building in Hoults Yard www.thekiln.co.uk

There isn't any dedicated web space as yet, but we'll be happy to tell you all about it at the event. If you are unable to make it, please feel free to give me a ring on 07896 012357 to discuss.

Kind regards
Alex

That wasn't meant to be a joke - it was attached when I sent it, honest!

So this doesn't continue forever. I'm taking a wild stab in the dark that google groups doesn't allow you to send attachments? I've never received one before in a group post. Right or wrong? - I could be either.

Right, you'll all just have to come and see for yourselves.

I received the photo the second attempt, not the first.
I think the first attempt the picture was placed in the email as an inline picture,
the second attempt it was added as an attachment.

As proven by Hannah at the second attempt, you can post attachments,

I had a look in the help / faq when the first message turned up sans picture :)

Hi All,

Just a wee reminder that the Somewhere launch and Castaway event (as seen in the journal business section: http://bit.ly/2LkhdH ;) ) will be next Thursday 12th November from 4pm in the Kiln, Hoults Yard.

Please could you let me know that you plan to come if you haven't already? Looking forward to seeing lots of you next week!

Hannah
